Transparency International Netherlands is hosting a half-day seminar and webinar called “Blowing the Whistle – Pride, Prejudice & Protection.”

The seminar will focus on the reputation of whistleblowers and address questions like: How can outside legislation better protect whistleblowers? How can we see whistleblowers as positive forces in our society? What contributes to the imaging of blowing the whistle? How can we influence this?

When: November 29, 2018 from 2:00pm – 7:00pm

Where: Jaarbeursboulevard 300, Utrecht, Netherlands

Speakers include:

  • Teun Gautier – Founder of PubLeaks
  • Paul Tijnagel – Risk & Compliance Officer
  • Wendy Addison – CEO of SpeakOut SpeakUp and whistleblower
  • Richard Bistrong – CEO of Front-Line Anti-Bribery LLC
  • Prof. dr. Michaéla Schippers – Endowed Professor of Behaviour and Performance Management

Can’t attend physically but want to join the event? A live webinar option is also available here.

Transparency International is committed to the worldwide protection of whistleblowers and journalists’ sources. Many recent scandals would have never been revealed without the reporting of these courageous people.

LuxLeaks, the Panama Papers, the car makers’ dieselgate fraud, and the abuse of data by Cambridge Analytica are just a few examples.

In each case, an individual blew the whistle, putting their own reputation and career at stake.

Lotte Rooijendijk is the Communications & Project Officer at Transparency International Netherlands, where she is involved in international projects in the areas of anti-corruption, transparency, whistleblower protection, good governance and human rights. She is the publisher and editor-in-chief of, the online platform of the anti-corruption organization Transparency International Netherlands.
