The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Office of Ethics recently released a new Executive Branch innovation — an animated/illustrated ethics video specifically for Federal employees.
Ethics Illustrated: How to Avoid Conflicts of Interest focuses on the ethical challenges employees face when the Federal government procures goods and services.
The video combines art and music to quickly engage viewers while providing guidance on handling gifts from vendors and dealing with relatives in private sector companies seeking to do business with government.
It uses clear examples to provide an overview of conflicts of interest, gifts, and the Federal impartiality rules — all in under 5 minutes.
It’s available on YouTube here.

The video also informs viewers that they can obtain more information about the Federal Ethics rules by downloading the USDA’s Ethics App.
The Ethics App was featured as a resource on The FCPA Blog last September.
It can be downloaded for free with Android devices or Apple devices.
Additional USDA ethics resources are available on the Office of Ethics webpage on the USDA website.
