Cody Worthington: A creative garden for the compliance community

I finished my first FCPA investigation in 2007 and sought to learn more about this uniquely American law and its requirements.

At that time, the annual Shearman and Sterling FCPA Digest was the gold standard for learning about previous FCPA investigations and current trends, and it’s still a wonderful resource. However, the world was evolving and people, including me, were hungry for more timely information. Enter the FCPA Blog.

It has always focused on providing and sharing anything relevant to the FCPA.

Interwoven in the fabric of the FCPA Blog are the values of generosity, passion, creativity and gratitude. It has always been generous to various viewpoints and guest authors. Similarly, the editors have responded to many inquiries from those (including me) seeking to better understand the nuances of FCPA.

The FCPA Blog is a creative garden. Since its founding, it has supported a cottage of FCPA related services collectively referred to as “FCPA Inc.” These companies, many of whom are long-time sponsors, have advanced and improved all aspects of FCPA compliance and investigation. The FCPA Blog has given this community a place to grow and flourish.

Finally, any discussion about the FCPA Blog would not be complete without a discussion of gratitude — one of the FCPA Blog’s guiding principles. Any regular reader will remember posts of gratitude about Thanksgiving, veterans, America, founders of the FCPA, guests, editors, and sponsors and of course courageous individuals standing up to corruption.

As we approach the Thanksgiving holiday, let us reflect and follow the example to be more generous to those in our influence, passionate in the fight against corruption, creative in our duties and responsibilities, and above all grateful for the many blessings and friendships we enjoy.

  1. Great read, Cody – Happy Thanksgiving!

  2. Thank you for sharing this Cody. I have been reading this blog for over a year now, just to keep myself updated with the latest developments. Have pondered over contributing some articles as well, as I think this blog is very welcoming to people who wish to contribute.

This blog has surely made an impact in the world in terms of spreading the message that corruption will not be tolerated and no good comes out of it.

Not to sound religious but as the saying goes, God sees and knows everything, the same I think our Enforcers have their eyes and years in all places.
