Britain’s market regulator charged a former UBS Group AG compliance officer with five counts of insider trading.
Fabiana Abdel-Malek, 34, allegedly passed tips to a London man between June 2013 and June 2014 who traded on the information, Bloomberg reported.
Walid Choucair, 38, was also charged with five counts of insider dealing.
The Financial Conduct Authority filed the charges.
Abdel-Malek worked as a compliance officer at UBS since 2007, Bloomberg said, and has a law degree.
The defendants are scheduled to appear in Magistrates’ Court in London next week.
They face up to seven years in prison if convicted.
