Heike Böhme is currently the General Integrity, Compliance & Legal Counsel for SOS Children’s Villages International with its registered office in Innsbruck, Austria.
SOS Children’s Villages International takes action for children as an independent non-governmental social development organization. It protects the rights of children who have lost or are at risk of losing parental care.
The first SOS Children’s Village was founded in Austria in 1949.
Today, SOS Children’s Villages member associations operate in over 130 countries and territories to support children and strengthen families and communities around the world.
More than 553,000 children, young people and adults worldwide benefited from SOS family strengthening programs or SOS family-based alternative care in 2015. The organization also provides education and health services and assists children and families in humanitarian emergencies in over 22 countries.
Scholarship winner Heike Böhme is responsible for the design, implementation, management and further development of the SOS federation’s compliance program (in particular compliance with anti-corruption legislation and related fields of law) with risk-based prevention, detection, and response mechanisms.
Before joining SOS, Heike was the Head of the Compliance Office for Daimler AG’s worldwide Financial Services Division & Business Partner Integrity.
