Resource Alert: Huge public-access database for corruption research

The Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP), a non-profit network of investigative journalism centers in Europe and Eurasia, launched a searchable data platform that now has more than 3.6 million documents.

The platform is called ID Search.

Some of the documents in the database are business gazettes, company records, leaks, court cases, and others.

The database also includes one of the most comprehensive open source lists of Politically Exposed Persons.

Documents and databases are cross-referenced with watchlists and international sanctions lists.

Users can set up email alerts for new results, such as when  tracked persons appear on an official watchlist.

When it launched ID Search earlier this year, the OCCRP said most sources are updated every 24 hours.

ID Search is part of the OCCRP’s Investigative Dashboard, a platform that also includes a database of databases, visualizations, and other researcher tools.
