The DOJ unsealed a 47-count indictment early Wednesday in federal court in New York charging 14 defendants with racketeering, wire fraud, and money laundering conspiracies during a 24-year corruption scheme at the heart of international soccer.
Also early Wednesday, police in Switzerland arrested at least six soccer officials at the request of the United States.
The DOJ said in New York that guilty pleas of four individual and two corporate defendants had been unsealed.
