World Bank Program: Tax Evasion and Financing for Development — Strengthening Global Action

Image courtesy of the World Bank GroupOn Friday April 17, the World Bank Group will host a program that discusses the importance of strengthening global action to reduce and deter tax evasion. You can attend the program in person by registering here, or stream the event online here.

The program aims to bring together senior public officials, policy makers, civil society, business leaders and the media to discuss the importance of curbing tax evasion as a means to end poverty and promote shared prosperity.

While a number of critical international initiatives have been taken, developing countries still face significant challenges in light of the complexity of tax evasion and avoidance schemes. This program will highlight the importance of strategic cooperation between developed and developing countries to promote stronger tax and transparency mechanisms, and to boost global enforcement action.
