Jiang Yesheng, a lawyer and director at Anhui Runtian Law Firm, has been sentenced to 11 years in jail for allegedly offering cash of $424,718 and a property to government officials who have steered potential clients to him. Jiang also bribed judges in exchange for favorable rulings.

Wang Kan, former deputy director of the Hubei Province state-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission, has been sacked and expelled from the party for accepting bribes and embezzling public funds. Wang will be transferred to judiciary for prosecution.

Sihui City Galaxy Real Estate Investment Development Co Ltd was fined $163,353 for offering bribes to Zou Jianjun, former head of Sihui City Urban and Rural Planning Bureau, with $416,550 to gain project approval. The company’s legal representative, Ruan Junyong, who is also a local government political advisor, was jailed for two years.

Chongqing Weixin Medical Equipment Co Ltd has been suspended for two years from selling products to medical institutions in Chongqing city, after the company’s general manager Liu Kai was found to have offered $22,000 in kickbacks to a doctor to provide medical devices to the hospital.

Zeng Jinsheng, former president of Chancheng District Chaoyang Hospital in Foshan City (Guangdong Province), received a 10-year jail term for promoting drugs for Foshan Kangpu Medicine Co Ltd and Foshan Hongxing Medicine Co Ltd, in exchange for $23,854 in kickbacks.

Pan Zhisen, former head of the Comprehensive Planning Division at Foshan Municipal Science and Technology Bureau (Guangdong province), was sentenced to 10.5 years in prison for bribery. Foshan Yibo Corporate Consulting Co Ltd and Foshan Dexin Science & Technology Co Ltd paid Pan $53,263 to obtain government research funds and project approvals.
