Fan had embezzled poverty-aid funds donated by Ding Yuxin, also known as Ding Shumiao, former chairwoman of Beijing Boyou Investment Management Corp. Xu Long, general manager and party secretary of China Mobile Communications Corp’s Guangdong office, was expelled from the Communist Party for severe discipline violations. Guangdong discipline authorities said Xu had committed crimes by taking advantage of his position to seek benefits for bribe-givers.
