Prosecutors in Riga, Latvia brought charges last week against six people accused of taking bribes from German vehicle-maker Daimler.
Prosecutor Velta Zaluksne read the charges in the so-called Daimler bribery affair in Riga Central District Court, according to the Baltic Course news site.
The six facing charges include Leonards Tenis, an advisor to a former mayor of Riga. The others were members of the city council.
Daimler paid $185 million in 2010 to settle FCPA charges arising from payments in China, Russia, Croatia, and Latvia. That settlement is still on our top ten list of the biggest FCPA cases of all time.
Lawyers for two of the defendants said their clients would plead not guilty.
The next hearing is set for January 30, 2014.
