From bad to worse? Look out for Afghanistan 2.0

U.S. Air Force photo by Tech. Sgt. Jeromy K. CrossDear FCPA Blog,

I read your blog article U.S. State Department gets an ‘F’ for Afghan compliance which hits very close to home for me as my company supplies government contractors funded by U.S. programs.

As we know, some of these contractors are not U.S. owned, but for the most part, they are established foreign companies with legal department and some familiarization of U.S. and other corruption laws.

We are now experiencing the shift from U.S. appointed contractors to local Afghan companies and now I’m starting to get gray hair. I am by no means excusing any corruption that could have occurred in the hands of U.S. appointed contractors but I would much prefer to cooperate with the U.S. appointed contractors over the Afghan appointed companies.

If the State Department was getting an F for Afghan compliance before this shift, they will soon be getting a double F with the Afghan appointed contractors.

Thank you for the post.
