Why do Americans behave this way?

Ever wonder why the U.S. enacted the FCPA? Why Congress, the President, and the people of America took it upon themselves to clean up the rest of the world?

Here’s one reason why.

American families come from everywhere. Most have overcome a lot to build new lives. So they know how important the rule of law is — how opportunities exist when enforcement is fair but not when the game is rigged for the corrupt few.

Here’s a short clip from the White House, with voices of Americans grateful for their chance to succeed.

Not just any Americans but real West Wingers — people who work at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

The clip is a soft sales pitch for immigration reform.

But it also makes the point that Americans, especially the newest ones, have a special feeling for the rule of law and what it means for everyone.
