Third guilty plea in broker-dealer case

The DOJ said Friday another broker from Direct Access Partners pleaded guilty to bribing foreign officials in Venezuela in exchange for bond trading work.

Two executives of an SEC-register broker-dealer pleaded guilty Thursday to bribing an official of a state-owned Venezuelan bank in exchange for bond trading business.

JP Morgan hiring ‘spreadsheet’ under DOJ scrutiny

A Bloomberg report said an internal spreadsheet that linked appointments to specific deals pursued by JP Morgan Chase is now part of an investigation into the bank‘s hiring practices.

Big sweep in Sinograin corruption scandal

China Grain Reserves Corporation, also known as Sinograin, the state-owned grain storage enterprise that has long been enmeshed in corruption and embezzlement scandals, is the center of another corruption probe.
