James McGrath and the Internal Investigations Blog

James McGrath, Managing Partner of McGrath & Grace, Ltd.We’re pleased to welcome James McGrath and his popular Internal Investigations Blog to the ethiXbase network.

The Internal Investigations Blog began in February 2011. As its name suggests, coverage is focused on investigations, with news and commentary “from FCPA inquiries to NCAA athletics probes to anything in between,” as the mission statement says.

So far in 2013, for example, posts have examined the recently disclosed Wal-Mart emails and analyzed a fraud complaint against San Diego’s Thomas Jefferson Law School.

Jim is a former prosecutor and leader of a federally-funded narcotics unit in Cleveland, Ohio.

He’s now Managing Partner of the law firm of McGrath & Grace, Ltd. It specializes in conducting independent internal investigations for corporations and other business organizations. It covers potential violations of criminal and civil codes, regulatory mandates, and internal compliance and ethics policies.

“The firm’s practice is limited primarily to this internal investigative function,” according to its website, “to provide the client with the independent fact-finding and analysis critical to best practices compliance efforts and protected by the attorney-client privilege and work-product doctrine.”

It’s a great pleasure to welcome Jim McGrath’s Internal Investigations Blog to the ethiXbase network, joining the FCPA Blog and our other sister blogs: Tom Fox’s FCPA Compliance and Ethics Blog and Jeff Kaplan’s Conflict of Interest Blog.
