IACA seminar on lessons learned from clean governments

Campus of the International Anti-Corruption Academy (IACA) in Laxenburg (Vienna), AustriaOur friends at the International Anti-Corruption Academy (IACA) in Laxenburg, Austria (part of the city of Vienna) have an important seminar coming up in early December.

For two days (December 6 and 7), Bo Rothstein, holder of the August Röhss Chair in Political Science at the University of Gothenburg (Sweden), will discuss his newest findings about good governance — focusing on examples of uncorrupted and reliable governmental institutions and what they teach about combating corruption.

Professor Rothstein has been recognized as one of the most important political scientists of our time. He’ll elaborate on the major aspects of an effective anti-corruption policy, including the quality of government, the character of political institutions and their effects on social trust among the population, as well as the political and moral logic of corruption.

Over the two-day event, participants will be invited to take part in the discussion. They’ll also be invited to a dinner with Professor Rothstein at a typical Viennese restaurant.

This seminar will be conducted in English.

It’s open to anti-corruption practitioners from the private and public sector, media and civil society representatives, academics and students.

Registration is normally €320. But for university students under the age of 27, it’s €160. And anyone (students and others) registering before October 31 will receive a discount of 10%.
